Counseling Services

We provide short-term counseling services to families with children birth to 18. Young adults, ages 18-21, may be eligible depending on the previous history of of services with the Township and type of problems. Our services take a family focus and, when appropriate, we have parents and other family members directly involved in the therapy sessions.
We address such issues as:
  • Depression and anxiety
  • School avoidance
  • Substance abuse issues (higher levels of care may be required based on dependency)
  • Impact of separation and divorce on children
  • Parenting and family conflicts
  • Changes in mood or self care
  • Peer conflicts and social skills
  • ADHD
Some children may present issues that require a higher level of care such as threats of self-harm, significant drug use or other out-of-control behaviors. The person handling the intake will do their best to direct you to the needed services.
All of our therapists are highly skilled and experienced, none possessing less than a masters degree.
We do not provide marital or individual adult therapy services. Youth and Family Services does not provide any documentation, evaluation or testimony regarding custody or any court related matters. For a better understanding of our policy, please review our Intake Forms .
The first session is free and the fee is $10.00 per session that follows. Client’s may request a Rate Reduction based on financial circumstances. Methods of payment: Cash, check or credit card.
To Begin Services/Intake
To begin services, please call us for a confidential intake: Call 847-244-1101 ext. *401.
Upon completion of an intake call, the client will be assigned a therapist who will make final arrangements to begin therapy. While it is our goal to start clients as soon as possible, it may take a couple weeks to begin services. The more flexible clients are with their time, the faster we can assign the case. Once the therapist makes the first call, the client/family must respond within 48 hours.

If you feel that your child is at risk of harm to self or others and you require immediate assistance, please call 911 or take your child to the nearest emergency room.
If you are a current client and working with a therapist, you may attempt contacting that therapist (click Contact) or call our on-call staff person at 855-577-9360.
